“First” churches are common across America, particularly in older towns. As you drive state to state you’ll see First Baptist, First Methodist, and First Presbyterian, to name a few. The “first” in, say, “First Baptist Centerville” doesn’t differentiate that church from other Baptist churches in Centerville except that this church was literally the first Baptist church formed in Centerville. This goes for all other denominations as well. The “first” is merely part of the name of a church with a groundbreaking history, not a unique denomination or even a differentiation from others in their own denomination.
